What is the difference between the professionally qualified individual and a true professional? There is a difference. If someone is just able to do a job and take a responsibility for his own work, can he be called a professional? Is that really enough to make someone a true professional? No not enough. We have to show our professional behavior. We have numbers of professionally qualified, technically competent individual but only handful of true professionals. And the reason is we lack professionalism in our profession.
We get high-end education and specialized training, but nowhere we find anything that teaches us how to approach every problem, communicate with different people and respond to change. Every time we are in problem about professional dealings and developing relationship with our clients. We have to have some qualities to act and behave in a professional manner. But what qualities? Such as being self-aware is necessary, not being afraid to admit when we are wrong plays a great role. seeking help and ignoring the work that doesn't align with our values or goals. However, the ability to work without any supervision, ability to authorise the job or task as completed and the ability to behave with integrity at all times makes anyone a true professional.Any professionally qualified person, without integrity, is actually a danger to a society.
