What do you Eat to stay Fit?

We have to eat to live, and not live to eat. Healthy eating habits are essential for longevity of life. For developing a healthy eating habits, we need to ensure that we eat three balanced meals a day. The meals we eat should contain the right amount of proteins, vegetables, fruits, and carbohydrates. Avoiding fat-filled foods and more processed foods will add to our good health. In order to prevent fatigue it is necessary that we are nourished adequately. A balanced diet is really essential for a healthy growth. A balanced diet includes adequate amount of fats, carbohydrates, proteins, and vitamins. All these nutrients need to be adequately present in our diet for our optimal performance in daily activities. Well, apart from all this, water is the most important nutrients for the body.
 We can survive several days without food, many people observe fast for so many days but still they do drink water, because without water it is hard to survive. Water comprises about 60% of total body weight in the average adult male, and about 50% in the average adult female. For a balancing diet we need to drink sufficient quantity of water daily. We acquire water through the food we eat too. Fruits and vegetables are around 80 to 90 % water, and grains, nuts, and seeds have water in them though they appear relatively dry. Water is also obtained through the process of metabolism of food, i.e., when carbohydrates, proteins, fats are broken down into simpler form releasing energy, water is produced in the process of breaking down. Water is the most essential part of our balanced diet. Drinking water a glass or two early in the morning keeps us active and healthy.
 And proteins,carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals are also the major nutrients which need to be present in the right amount in the food for a balanced diet.
 Proteins are necessary for building and repair of tissues. Major sources of proteins are : Milk, Cheese, Yogurt, Eggs, Fish, Almonds, Beans, etc.
Carbohydrates are necessary for providing energy to he body. Carbohydrates provide energy upto 4 calories per gram consumed. Major sources of carbohydrates are : Rice, Pasta, Oatmeals, Apples, Pears, Strawberries, Carrot, Broccoli, Cauliflower, Candy, Soda, Cakes, etc.
Vitamins and minerals are present in small amount but they too play major role in the bodily functions. Major sources of vitamins and minerals are Fruits, Mushroom, Eggs, Carrots, Fish, Sunlight (source of vitamin D) etc.
Also the essential amount of fats are required for a balanced diet,however excessive consumption of the same leads to obesity and other health problems.
Taking a proper balanced diet is very essential to remain fit. Eating small frequent meals would prove more beneficial than eating a bulk at once.
Not only eating but some exercise is also required for staying fit. Proper diet and proper exercise will boost the health of an individual. Well, a short and regular exercise will prove more beneficial than longer hours of exercises, which causes fatigue instead.
However, in today's perspective, staying fit is a really challenge. Everyone is suffering from one illness or the other. Taking proper care of eating habits would surely pave our way towards a healthy life.
 As you know the famous saying, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away", we need to take care of ourselves first. It is better to prevent the illness rather than curing it after getting it.
 Eat fruits, drink ample amount of water, have a balanced diet and do some exercise regularly, you will remain healthy and fit. Heal thyself, Be your own doctor!!!!
